Workshop capability

CO2 Welding

MIG/MAG welding for fast, consistent joins on mild steel and heavier fabrication.

CO2 welding (MIG/MAG) is the primary welding process for mild steel fabrication in our workshop. It produces strong, consistent joins at speed, making it suitable for frames, structural supports, enclosures, and production-batch welded assemblies.
Discuss this capability →

Why it matters

A practical capability for the finished part.

CO2 welding is the most common process for steel fabrication because it is fast, produces minimal spatter with the right settings, and creates joins strong enough for structural and industrial use.

What this capability includes

Fast deposition rate
Strong structural joins
Suitable for mild steel
Clean bead finish

Typical applications

Where we use it

Frames and structural supports
Industrial enclosures
Heavy fabrication
Production-batch assemblies

Workshop workflow

01

Prepare and fit

We clean the joint area, clamp the parts in position, and check alignment before welding.

02

Weld the joint

The MIG torch runs along the joint, depositing filler metal and creating a continuous bead.

03

Grind and inspect

We grind the weld smooth if required, check for defects, and verify the assembly against the drawing.

More workshop capabilities
