Workshop capability

Electric Welding

Stick/SMAW welding for on-site repair work and heavy-duty structural joins.

Electric welding (stick/SMAW) is a versatile manual process used for structural joins, repair work, and situations where the workpiece cannot be moved to a dedicated welding station. It works on mild steel, cast iron, and dirty or rusty surfaces.
Discuss this capability →

Why it matters

A practical capability for the finished part.

Stick welding is the most forgiving process when conditions are not ideal. For repair work on existing structures, rusty material, or jobs that cannot come to the workshop, it produces reliable structural joins without special gas equipment.

Workshop workflow

01

Select the electrode

We choose the right electrode type and size for the material thickness and joint type.

02

Weld the joint

The electrode strikes an arc that melts both the rod and the workpiece, depositing filler metal into the joint.

03

Chip and inspect

We chip off the slag coating, inspect the weld bead, and grind or re-weld if needed.
