Workshop capability

Gas Welding

Oxy-fuel welding and cutting for repair work, thin material, and heating applications.

Gas welding (oxy-fuel) uses a flame produced by burning oxygen and acetylene to melt and join material. It is used for thin-gauge work, repair jobs, brazing, and heating or bending operations where localised heat is required.
Discuss this capability →

Why it matters

A practical capability for the finished part.

Gas welding fills a niche that electric processes do not always cover. For thin material, copper pipes, brazing, or heating a specific area for bending, the oxy-fuel flame gives precise localised heat without the complexity of electric welding equipment.

What this capability includes

Low equipment cost
Good for thin material
Heating and bending support
Brazing and soldering capable

Typical applications

Where we use it

Thin-sheet repair
Pipe joints and brazing
Localised heating for bending
Copper and brass work

Workshop workflow

01

Set the flame

We adjust the oxygen and acetylene mix to produce the correct flame type for the job.

02

Heat and join

The flame melts the base material and filler rod, joining the pieces along the seam.

03

Cool and inspect

We let the joint cool naturally, then check for cracks, porosity, and alignment.
