Workshop capability

Spot Welding

Resistance welding for fast joins on thin sheet metal without filler material.

Spot welding joins overlapping sheets of metal by passing a high current through the contact points, melting small spots under pressure. It is fast, produces no filler material or gas shielding, and is ideal for thin sheet-metal assemblies.
Discuss this capability →

Why it matters

A practical capability for the finished part.

Spot welding is the fastest way to join overlapping sheets of thin metal. For enclosures, cabinets, and panels where both sheets are accessible, it produces a strong join in seconds without filler wire or shielding gas.

What this capability includes

No filler material needed
Very fast cycle time
Clean join appearance
Suitable for thin sheet metal

Typical applications

Where we use it

Sheet metal enclosures
Cabinets and boxes
Automotive panels
Thin-gauge assemblies

Workshop workflow

01

Position the sheets

We align the overlapping sheets and clamp them between the spot-welding electrodes.

02

Apply current and pressure

A high current passes through the contact points while the electrodes press the sheets together, melting small spots.

03

Release and repeat

We release the electrodes, move to the next spot, and repeat across the joint as required.
